Extension Privacy Policy
Whale Together Optimizer (Chrome Extension) · Last updated: 31 July 2026
The Whale Together Optimizer extension helps you optimize TradingView strategy parameters by running your backtests and scoring the results through your Whale Together account. This policy explains exactly what the extension accesses and where that data goes.
What the extension accesses
- Your Whale Together sign-in token. When you are logged in on whaletogether.io, the extension reads the access token your browser already stored for that site and keeps a copy in the extension's local storage (
chrome.storage.local). This token is used only to authenticate your requests to the Whale Together optimizer service, exactly as the website itself does. - TradingView strategy data. On
tradingview.com/chart/*pages, the extension reads the strategy input parameters and Strategy Tester results from the page you have open, so it can run and evaluate backtests. - Optimization progress. The extension stores the latest optimization progress locally so the popup can restore its state after you close and reopen it.
What the extension does NOT do
- It does not sell or rent your data.
- It does not send data to any third party. Data flows only between your browser, TradingView (your own existing session), and Whale Together's own servers (
whaletogether.io). - It does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking.
- It does not collect your name, email, browsing history, or activity on any site other than TradingView chart pages and whaletogether.io.
- It does not read your exchange API keys or place trades. Optimization runs against TradingView backtests only.
Where data is sent
Strategy parameters and backtest results are sent to the Whale Together optimizer API and WebSocket endpoints at whaletogether.io, authenticated with your account token, so the server can score iterations and return the best parameters. This is the same service and account you use on the website.
Storage and retention
The sign-in token and last progress are held in the extension's local storage in your browser. They are removed when you reset a job in the extension, when you uninstall the extension, or when you clear the extension's storage. Server-side handling of your account data is covered by the main Whale Together Privacy Policy.
